Privacy Policy for Email Templates for Gmail™

Last updated: September 22, 2026

Who we are and how to contact us

Email Templates for Gmail™ by SideWorks lets users create, synchronize, and insert plain-text email templates. It is operated by Dmitrii Skorniakov, an individual based in Cyprus and the controller responsible for this processing. SideWorks is a product brand, not a separate legal entity. Contact: support@sideworks.app.

Data we process

  • Google sign-in data: account identifier, email address, and authentication information.
  • Template data: identifiers, titles, plain-text content, saved order, and synchronization, offline, and recovery records.
  • Usage and operational data: limited feature-use, outcome, reliability, approximate library-size and timestamp data; pseudonymous template identifiers; and security-log data such as IP address and response information.
  • Support data: information you choose to send us.

We do not use the Gmail™ API to read or collect messages or drafts. In the Chrome extension, Gmail™ editor processing stays on your device and only shows controls or inserts the selected template. The Gmail™ add-on runs on Google Apps Script. It can only insert the template you select into the message you are writing; it cannot read your messages, drafts, or contacts. Template content is stored to provide the service, not for analytics. Usage data excludes template or email content, template titles, search terms, Gmail™ page content, URLs, and clipboard data.

Purposes and legal bases

Account, authentication, template, and synchronization data are necessary to provide the service under our agreement with you (GDPR Article 6(1)(b)). Google sign-in is required for an account and synchronization; without it, we cannot provide those features. Template and support information is optional.

We use limited usage, operational, security, and support data for our legitimate interests in service security and reliability, abuse prevention, support, and aggregate product measurement (Article 6(1)(f)). Article 6(1)(c) applies only when a specific legal obligation requires processing.

Analytics-capable versions automatically collect the usage data described above after account setup. There is no separate analytics switch. We do not sell personal data or use it for advertising, credit decisions, or unrelated profiling. We do not use Google user data, including template content, to develop, improve, or train artificial intelligence or machine learning models, and we do not transfer it to third-party services that would use it for that purpose. We make no legally significant automated decisions.

Providers and disclosures

Google Cloud, Firebase, and Google Apps Script provide sign-in, hosting, storage, logging, and reporting; templates are stored in the European Union. Our website host processes request data needed to serve and protect the public site.

Google may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where required, its data-processing terms provide safeguards, including Standard Contractual Clauses. Contact us for information about them.

We otherwise disclose personal data only to provide or secure the service, comply with law, or complete a business transfer after any explicit prior consent required by Google policy. People may read Google user data only with your specific support permission, for security or abuse investigation, when required by law, or when aggregated and anonymized data is used internally.

The use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. The use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app by the Gmail™ add-on will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Retention and deletion

  • Account, authentication, template, and synchronization data: while your account and library exist.
  • Operational logs: 30 days.
  • Account-linked usage data: up to 90 days; a limited summary remains while the account exists.
  • Service-wide aggregate reports without account, template, or user-level records: for the life of the product.
  • Support messages: as long as needed for the request.

Deleting your SideWorks account removes its library, synchronization data, account-linked usage data, authentication record, and extension data, and stops future collection for that account. Service-wide aggregate reports remain. Data is kept longer only where applicable law requires it.

You can delete your account from the Chrome extension’s Settings or by contacting support@sideworks.app. Uninstalling a client does not delete your template library.

Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or portability, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. We may verify your identity. You may complain to the authority where you live or work, including the Commissioner for Personal Data Protection in Cyprus.

Security

We use HTTPS to encrypt data in transit, and stored data is encrypted at rest by Google Cloud. Access to production data is limited to the operator and used only for the purposes described in this policy. We also apply reasonable organizational and technical safeguards. No online service can guarantee absolute security.
